Timo Rajakangas

Timo Rajakangas is Ambassador of Finland to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
From 2013 – 2017, Ambassador Rajakangas represented his home country in Croatia, and since 2014 also in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Republic of Macedonia. From 2010 – 2013, he was acting as Ambassador for the Baltic Sea Affairs at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland in Helsinki. Previous diplomatic posts included Hong Kong and Macao, Vienna, Hamburg, Tokyo and Geneva.
Ambassador Rajakangas is a Fellow of the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University and holds a Master of Social Sciences in Economics from the University of Helsinki. Besides his native Finnish, he is actively fluent in Swedish, English and German, and has a passive knowledge of French, Japanese, Cantonese and Croatian. He has been decorated with the Order of Duke Branimir with Ribbon of the Republic of Croatia, the Knight First Class of the Order of the Lion of Finland, the Order of the Sacred Treasure Gold Rays with Rosette from the Emperor of Japan, and the Grand Decoration of Honour in Gold with Star for Services to the Republic of Austria.
